Responsibilities:
As the VP of Finance & Accounting, you will:
Lead all aspects of financial and accounting operations including monthly financial reporting, income statements, fund accounting, and ledger management.
Develop and implement financial strategies and policies that align with the company's objectives and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and analyze investment trends in the energy sector to inform strategic financial decisions.
Manage utility accounting procedures in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
-Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial data and reports.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to drive the company's financial performance and growth.
Oversee the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Provide financial insight and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role, preferably in the energy sector.
Demonstrated knowledge of non-profit or nonprofit accounting procedures is essential.
Proficient in utility accounting procedures and understanding of the electrical and utilities sector.
Strong understanding of investment trends in the energy industry.
Experience in monthly reporting, income statement preparation, fund accounting, and ledger management.
Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
